An important part of the mission of Christ Church is to create an environment in which we can grow in relationship with God, the world, and each other. We are committed to nurturing kids’ innate spirituality and love of neighbor through our Children’s Chapel and our Christian Formation programs for children age 3 through high school.
During the school year, Children’s Chapel begins (for age 3 through 5th grade) after Communion at the 9:15 service. Education programs for all grade levels meet after the 9:15 service, from 10:15-11:00. Classes meet during the adult forum so the whole family can share the joys and challenges of Christian formation!
All age groups learn about the Bible and Christian tradition with creative, activities. All groups also learn about and participate in worship, prayer, and service projects to help make these practices a way of life.

Children's Chapel
|
Children’s Chapel is an opportunity for Christ Church’s younger crowd to worship and wonder in fun, age-appropriate ways. Services include music and prayer, and are led by clergy, seminarians, and volunteer chaplains. Junior chapel is for kids age 3 through Kindergarten. Senior chapel is for grades 1-5. (Older kids stay in the service for the sermon & prayers.)
Both the Junior and Senior chapels begin after Communion at the 9:15 service. Kids are invited to follow the cross down to chapel. Teachers will meet them up and take them to their classes when chapel ends at 10:15.
Parents are welcome to come to Children’s Chapel or to stay in the 9:15 service. Parents pick up their children at 11:00 in their classroom.

Chaplain Ministry
|
The Chaplain Ministry, although small, is very active. Each Sunday the volunteer chaplains share their gifts with the children during Chapel time.
If you are interested in being a Chaplain, please contact Liz Quinn at webethemom@aol.com. It only takes 15 minutes one Sunday a month and NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

Education for Children
Ages 3-5th Grade
|
Preschool and Kindergarten kids participate in the acclaimed Godly Play program, which provides children with wooden figures and activities for telling Bible stories. This imaginative play encourages kids to seek and find answers to their faith questions in the Montessori tradition.
Grades 1-5 participate in a program that celebrates kids’ varied learning styles. Kids investigate the same Scriptures heard in the church service, using art, drama, music, games, and other hands-on activities.

Programs for 6-12th graders
Journey to Adulthood (J2A)
J2A is a foundational program of spiritual formation for young people living in a modern world. The program provides a liturgical frame for their life experiences, celebrates their individuality and creative potential, and instructs them in skills needed for successful adult participation in church and society. J2A has three phases, and the groups move together through each multi-year phase.
