| Walk for the Hunger: October 19, 2008
Mark your calendar for Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 1.30pm for the 28th annual Walk for the Hungry. This year a team from Christ Church Parish Kensington will be joining the effort, which benefits the Hunger Fund of the Diocese of Washington. Last year’s walk brought in over $4,000 for the Fund, and we are hoping to help top that this year with even more walkers and sponsors.
The walk will be hosted by Christ Church Rockville and is around beautiful Lake Artemesia, a 38-acre lake in Berwyn Heights and College Park. The paths around Lake Artemesia are paved and suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. Taking part is simple and fun. Christ Church Walkers can collect pledges of support from friends, relatives and co-workers for each kilometer they walk (or run). Then after completing the event, please turn in the money raised to Christ Church (Kensington). We will pass it on with our plate money to the Hunger Fund.
